On February 28th, the first day it became available, Disney's Lady and the Tramp Platinum Edition DVD sold approximately 1 million units, matching the first day sales of Cinderella, the last Disney Platinum Edition DVD which was released in October, 2005.

The DVD was the second best selling DVD of the day, behind Academy Award contending Walk the Line, which sold more than 3 million units.
